I’d like to shed a little light onto what artists and cultural workers actually do, in order to foster a generous view of the role creative work can play in our lives and communities. I’ve spent a lot of my creative life behind the scenes, watching real magic unfold, for me it is just as worthy of investigation as the resulting “finished” work.
This space is also, I hope, an alternative to the often overly academic language around the arts. A way to give artists a voice for their own practice, through relatable conversations, and an opportunity discover the parallels and differences between practices and disciplines.
Artists in every discipline are hard working people, and each of them does that work in a pretty unique way. I’m going to do my best talk to a diversity of different artists, and hopefully provide a view into a secret world…
